Doom Patrol – S1 Ep5 – Paw Patrol Review

Writer: Shoshana Sachi Director: Larry Teng Starring: Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby, Matt Bomer, Brendan Fraser, Joivan Wade, Timothy Dalton, Mark Sheppard, Alan Tudyk, Ted Sutherland and Ezra Buzzington. Featuring Riley Shanahan and Matthew Zuk This show is barking mad… and I love it. We left last week’s episode on a cliffhanger, with the Decreator – a huge disembodied eyeball – high in the sky, disintegrating everything that met its gaze. Had our band of misfits failed, was Cloverton and the world doomed? Again? It’s Snow Joke With Jane and Cliff stranded in a magical realm inside a snow-globe (yes, you … Continue reading Doom Patrol – S1 Ep5 – Paw Patrol Review

Doom Patrol – S1 Ep4 – Cult Patrol Review

Writers: Marcus Dalzine & Chris Dingess Director: Stefan Pleszczynski Starring: Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby, Matt Bomer, Brendan Fraser, Joivan Wade and Mark Sheppard. Featuring Riley Shanahan and Matthew Zuk In this week’s episode: The power of The Beatles, hot sauce, Simon & Garfunkel in a French accent (blue style, and a little bit pony) plus; what exactly happens to letters that never get sent? Yes, the whacky’s back, and this episode is pure magic… literally. Time To Pick Up A Good Book This episode of Doom Patrol has a completely different feel to the first three. Not better, not worse… different. The attention … Continue reading Doom Patrol – S1 Ep4 – Cult Patrol Review

Featuring Riley Shanahan and Matthew Zuk. Road Trip! Yes folks, this week our band of misshapen misfits hits the road on a quest to rescue The Chief. Last week the gang managed to escape the Donkey, freeing Cloverton in the process. Their leader, however, is still missing and remains Nobody’s prisoner. That could well be the strangest paragraph I’ve ever written. Seriously, read that back out loud! … Continue reading Doom Patrol – S1 Ep3 – Puppet Patrol Review

Doom Patrol – S1 Ep2 – Donkey Patrol Review

Writers: Neil Reynolds and Shoshona Sachi Director: Dermott Downs Starring: Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby, Alan Tudyk, Matt Bomer, Brendan Fraser, Joivan Wade, Phil Morris and Timothy Dalton Last week I left everyone with the teaser: If a green lock needs a green key, and a steel lock needs a steel key, come back next week to find out what kind of key a don lock needs. You’ll feel like a total ass if you don’t. Of course, a Don Lock would require a Don Key. Remember our pack animal pal from last week? Well, he plays a huge fart part … Continue reading Doom Patrol – S1 Ep2 – Donkey Patrol Review

Doom Patrol – S1 Ep1 Review

The 11 stellar episodes of Titans set the bar on the DC Universe streaming service incredibly high. This means that any new series premiering on the online network has a very tough act to follow. The clever part is that this new show won’t be coming in from the cold to an unprepared audience, like its predecessor. Episode 4 of Titans wasn’t just a great look into the background of Beast Boy, it also served almost as a back door pilot of sorts for Doom Patrol. DC had already primed viewers for the weird and whacky world of this extremely unusual band of heroes. Titans shocked … Continue reading Doom Patrol – S1 Ep1 Review
